The latest survey by Badoo revealed some very interesting facts about the UK dating ecosystem; it seems that Cougars are very far from being an endangered species, and they’re not afraid to go on the prowl for younger men.
Over half the women in Britain want a toyboy, with an incredible 70% of those surveyed saying they would consider such a relationship.
Gloucester was crowned as the UK’s “Cougar Capital,” followed closely by the Scottish cities of Aberdeen and Glasgow. And with ultra-glamorous role models like J-Lo, Demi Moore and Delta Goodrem leading the way, this is a title these towns might well be proud of.
When telling us why they preferred younger men, cougars said it was not (just) about looks; friendship, fun and a boost in self-confidence also played a really big part in the appeal of this kind of relationship.
Here at Badoo we also noticed a rise in this kind of pairing. This makes sense because Badoo works just like real life, and what happens on here reflects real world trends.
Over 1 in 10 of the 2000 British women we surveyed actively hunt out younger men, but over a third said that they were more confident making the first move online than in person. This also goes to show how meeting networks like Badoo can empower women to find – and get – exactly what they are looking for. It seems that the days of waiting around for guys to make the first move are long gone…
