But it should come as no surprise that as the Internet has become a bigger and bigger part of our lives, we’re increasingly using it for meeting new people. Sure enough, a study we ran across 6 countries showed that 85% of people aged 18-59 would be up for meeting someone who they had first chatted with online. And two-thirds said that they are friends with, or have themselves dated, someone they met online.
Spain and Brazil led the way, with 80% and 69% of people, respectively, who have met friends or future partners online, while the US rounded out the list at 58%.
