Financial crisis hits average Brits hard, but there is hope for your social life

Bah humbug. It seems Brits aren't looking forward to the holiday season this year.

Of the 2000 people we polled in November, 77% have no plans for New Year’s Eve and 1 in 3 have seen their traditional office Christmas Party cancelled by Scrooge bosses worried about the company balance sheet.

And it's not just the holidays: with the financial crisis forcing some serious belt tightening, many Brits freely admit to regularly staying in on a Saturday night, watching shows like the X-Factor.

But not everything is doom and gloom. The Brits we surveyed tell us they're happy with their social lives, but would jump at the chance of meeting more people–provided it doesn't cost too much. Maybe they need a bit of Badoo? After all, meeting like-minded mates or potential love interests is free on the site! Of course, after that first chat, it's up to you to make things special and memorable. Got any good tips for creating special holiday moments on the cheap? Let us know at stories@badoo.com
